- Oct 05, 2021 And then when you're cooking with rice, you use 1 part rice to 2 parts liquid/broth. This recipe calls for 1 1/4 cup rice and 2 cups broth. That's not enough liquid. Plus you need to adjust for the other ingredients you're adding to the pot. So what I did is I used the 1 1/4 cup rice, but then added 2 1/2 to 3 cups of liquid.
